The success of choosing frame affects the preservation time and artistic value of artworks. Good frame can have an excellent effect on setting off and enhancing artworks and indoor. Some painting work will be wrinkled after painting due to the painting process and techniques. After being framed, the surface will be more flat and the details of the painting will be clearer, thus raising the overall grade to a higher level.
1. Shape: Generally speaking, the shapes of oil painting frames and Chinese painting frames are very different. Oil paintings are generally suitable for frames with larger materials and complex patterns. Chinese painting frames should be exquisite and elegant, with the painting core and blank space to highlight the "charm" of the painting - it is this kind of artistic conception and taste that is played with.
2. Material:
PS Synthetic Material Painting Frame: The inner core material is PS foam line with synthetic material texture, and the material is plastic. Features: light weight, soft, easy to bend, but easy to break under strong force, and cannot bear heavy paintings.
Aluminum Alloy Painting Frame: generally made of aluminum strips. Features: light, not easy to bend, easy to clean, and can bear heavy paintings.
3. Glass: If you are going to a local framing shop to install it, it is recommended to install glass (reflective, heavier); if you are going to transport it, it is recommended to install acrylic board (reflective, lighter); if you have high requirements, then use low/no reflection glass.
Note: Reflective glass or acrylic board looks a bit like looking in a mirror, which will reduce the score for the picture.
4. Choose the right frame for your interior style and tone: The same color tone as the picture frame or wall will increase the overall sense of unity of the space and make the space more tidy and generous. If you want the picture frame to be the visual center, you can choose a picture of the opposite color. It can make the contrast in hue and purity stronger, adjust the atmosphere of the room, and become the finishing touch of the space.
Match according to the style of furniture: The color of the walls of our house is mostly light, but the colors of furniture, floor, curtains, and sofa fabrics are different. The choice of picture frames should mainly consider the color of the environment and the work itself. If the interior furnishings are mainly white, the color of the picture frame should not be too dark; conversely, if the interior furnishings are strong in color, it is not appropriate to choose a completely white picture frame.
