EN71-1: Physical and mechanical performance tests:
Sharp test: Ensure that there are no sharp objects on the surface of the product that may cut consumers
Small parts test: Prevent the presence of small accessories that may cause suffocation
PlaylTensile test: Check whether the product is easy to fall when subjected to tension to prevent children from pulling and swallowing
Pressure test: Simulate the pressure exerted on the product by children when playing to ensure that the structural strength of the toy will not cause deformation or damage
Drop test: Let the product fall from a specified height to check whether the toy will break or cause danger
Seam tensile test: Test the strength of the sewn part of the product to prevent the seam from cracking and causing small parts to fall off.
Torsion test: Test the strength of product parts under torsion to prevent torsion from causing danger.
Noise test: For products that make sound, the noise level needs to be tested to avoid damage to children's hearing.
Others: Also includes tests such as packaging film thickness, ejection products, and hair adhesion.
EN71-2 Flammability Test:
Burning rate test: Test the burning rate of toy materials to ensure that they will not cause serious burns to children within a certain period of time.
Burning test of different materials: Conduct separate burning tests on toys of different materials (such as plush toys, silk toys, head-mounted toys, etc.).
EN71-3 Migration test of specific elements: Migration test of 19 heavy metals, including aluminum, antimony, arsenic, barium, boron, cadmium, chromium (II), chromium (III), chromium (VI), cobalt, copper, gallium, manganese, mercury, nickel, selenium, tin, organic tin and zinc.
EN71-4 mainly tests the following aspects:
Chemical substance restrictions: EN71-4 specifies the types and quantities of chemicals allowed in each experimental group to ensure that these substances are harmless to children.
Design and structure of experimental equipment: EN71-4 also puts forward requirements for the design and structure of experimental equipment, such as ensuring that the container is sealed and preventing liquid spillage, so as to reduce the risk of accidents to children during operation.
Instructions and warnings: EN71-4 requires clear instructions and warnings to guide children to use experimental devices correctly and safely to avoid misuse or abuse.
EN71-5 Non-chemical products containing chemical substances: Safety assessment of non-chemical products containing chemical substances (such as paints, pigments, etc.).
EN71-6 Graphic age warning signs: Graphic signs for toys suitable for children of different ages are specified. For example, products for children under 3 years old are usually marked with a warning sign "Not suitable for children under 3 years old".
EN71-7 Finger paints: Safety tests are conducted on finger paints, such as heavy metal content, preservatives, etc.
EN71-8 Rotating toys: Safety assessment of rotating products, such as rotation radius, stability, etc.
EN71-9 Test items mainly include:
Flame retardants: Evaluate the migration and content of flame retardants in product materials.
Colorants: Detect the migration and content of colorants in product materials, especially the migration of certain specific aromatic amines.
Aromatic amines: Evaluate the migration and content of certain specific aromatic amines in product materials.
Monomers: Detect the migration and content of monomers in product materials.
Solvents: Evaluate the migration and content of solvents in product materials.
Wood preservatives: For wooden products, evaluate the migration and content of wood preservatives.
